A full house renovation and a new build summer house in the rear garden for family play area. Despite client’s intention for ground floor rear extension, it was not feasible due to Thames water main sewer passing across the back wall of the original house. The idea was to maximise the living area through open plan layout and position the summer house close to the original house to create visual and physical link. Large pane of sliding doors were proposed to emphasise the connection and more daylight to overcome relatively lower ceiling height of living space.
